STRÖMMAGÅRDEN FISHING

In the 17th century the Swedes and Danes shot at each other from the trenches along the border between Småland and Blekinge. There are still traces from the war. Today we welcome Danes, Swedes and all other nationalities at Strömmagården for fishing in the old border areas. The fishing-waters, a 7 km long stretch of the stream Ronnebyån, with varying running and calm waters. There are brown trout above 2 kg and pikes of 10 kg. In the bays there are giant bream, willing to bite and the stream is full of crayfish. Strömmagården can accommodate 35 guests, 20 beds are in the three cottages. The cottages overlook the stream and the pond at the farm where rainbow trout and crayfish are kept. Strömmagården is located on the peninsula formed in the wide bend of Ronnebyån. FISHING-WATERS Strömmagården’s fishing-waters are 7 km wide bend of Ronnebyån. The stream changes between shallow running water and 15 m deep dark, calm water. The width of the stream varies between 30 and 400 m. At Strömmagården there is also a 6,000 m2 pond with rainbow trout and crayfish. FISH Pike, perch and bream dominate in the calm water areas. In the running waters the brown trout are established and there are fish over 2 kg. There are plenty of crayfish all along the stretch of the stream. FISHING There are natural paths along the stream that makes is possible to reach even the places that are difficult of access. In a boat or canoe you can drift down with the stream and enjoy various types of fishing along the trip. You can fish all the year round. In the summer you can angle for bream, angle or spin-fish for perch, during the spring and autumn the spin-fishing for pike is usually successful. Crayfish are caught in August and September. During good ice winters jigging for perch or fishing for pike with special tackle, the old traditional way, can be really exciting. The brown trout can be caught in various seasons with fly or spin fishing as well as rainbow trout in the pond at the farm. Fishing permit for the stream can be bought at the farm. Included in the permit are also several small lakes in the area as well as another 20 km of Ronnebyån. There are special rules for the crayfishing and the fishing in the pond. Separate crayfishing can be rented on a 24-hour basis. BOATS AND TACKLE Boats can be rented with or without engines. The boats can also be transported to other fishing-waters upon agreement. Basic fishing tackle can be rented. All equipment needed for crayfishing is available on the farm. ACCOMMODATION At Strömmagården there is a newly built timber cottage with 8 beds (100 m2) and in the old barn there is a flat with 6 beds. Both the cottage and the flat are modern and there is a washing machine, TV and freezer. There is also a more basic room with 4 beds in a separate building. Another 15 beds are available within 500 m from the farm. The old hen house at the farm has been re-decorated and is now a modern conference facility with sauna. The cottages are meant for self-catering accommodation. Meals can be served in the the conference room upon agreement. Breakfast and packed lunch should be ordered beforehand. Bed linen and towels can be rented. OTHER SERVICE There is a grill cottage and fish smoke at the farm and barbecue places along the stream. The distance to the central town Tingsryd is 20 km. Kiosk, café, restaurant and petrol is available within 10 km. The distance to the coastal towns in Blekinge is 30–50 km. OTHER ACTIVITIES Conferences with crayfishing and traditional crayfish parties can be arranged as per agreement. Other activities available are e.g. clay-pigeon shooting, nature walks with berry and mushroom picking, visits to a game enclosure with moose and deer, riding or horse and cart trips. We can also arrange hunts. In the surroundings of Strömmagården there are many pleasant areas for walking. Within half an hour by car you reach Mörrum with the world famous salmon fishing. Large part of Smålands Glasrike can also be reached in half an hour. PRICES Upon agreement. HOW TO REACH STRÖMMAGÅRDEN From the north, on road 120 between Tingsryd and Emmaboda, when you come to Konga turn towards Hallarbro and then towards Fagerfors. From the south, on road 30 between Tingsryd and Ronneby, when you get to Hallarbro turn towards Konga and then towards Fagerfors.
